NATIONAL TEAM TRAINING SEMINAR
FOR KWF WORLD CUP
In the morning prior to the Elite Championship, a 2 hour seminar was held for the senior and junior national team selected for the KWF World Cup (except for the Elite Team members who were competing later that day).
The seminar comprised five sessions, two of which were taken by Malcolm Sensei, and one each by Mike Dukas Sensei, Michael Roetz Sensei and Johan Van Tonder Sensei.
Malcolm Sensei emphasized, demonstrated and taught the criteria of ‘Ippon’, Mike Sensei continued the theme, Michael Sensei taught strategy and Johan Sensei explained and gave the team supplementary fitness and conditioning exercises to enhance their performance.
The members of the team responded well to the sessions that had both a serious and enjoyable approach. The members then watched the Elite contestants perform and hopefully got scoring tips and ideas from the experts’ performance.
